GET INVOLVED: Geelong Talks Mental Health

Australians for Mental Health kicked off its community organising programme in Geelong in March this year. We facilitated a coalition meeting between local organisations, lived experience representatives, and service providers to talk about how we can make a difference in the way mental health is approached.

For our next step we're aiming to connect with 1,000 people in Geelong over the next 12 months to have a broad conversation about mental wellbeing. The idea is to get a clear picture of what’s impacting people in the community, to help identify some local issues and priorities, and to design a set of projects and campaigns aimed at addressing them.

We want this to be driven by people with lived experience, either as a consumer, carer or member of the broader Geelong community, and we want to ensure we involve as broad a group of people as possible.
